Jay Peak Resort (JPR) in Jay, VT has contracted Summit Technologies to provide site management services for the Sky Haus Tram facility. In addition to serving as the mountaintop tram location, this building houses radio and transmitter equipment for many of Vermont’s cellular, pager and radio communication providers including Verizon Wireless and AT&T.
Jay Peak Resort is an American ski resort located on Jay Peak, outside the small village of Jay, Vermont in the Green Mountains. The resort is just 4 miles (6.5 km) south of the Canada-United States border, the province of Quebec. Jay Peak Resort is owned and operated by a group of investors headed by Bill Stenger. It is well-known for its off-piste skiing and boast the largest annual snowfall in Eastern North America.
Summit provides a turn key site management solution for owners of strategic assets that includes radio frequency management, coordinating the tenant installations, modifications, contract negotiation and administration. Tom McGrail, Safety Coordinator for JPR says "Summit is a perfect fit for our needs. The Sky Haus site requires a solid understanding of RF and tenant management; Summit was able to provide the complete array of services."
Summit is also assisting JPR through a series of facility enhancements designed to provide the tenants with improved co-location features including HVAC, fire suppression, secure key-less access, and power management. This project is underway and will be completed by the spring of 2010. "The Sky Haus improvements will centralize the existing equipment and create a more protected and secure environment for the mission critical tenants" said Johannes Jobst, CTO Summit Technologies.
