FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Williston, Vermont/Chittenden – October 1, 2009: Summit Technologies, a recognized leader in the design and implementation of in‐building wireless products and solutions, announced that Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) in Barre, VT chose Summit Technologies to boost wireless signal strength for both data and voice services in the low coverage areas of the facilities' first floor.
Central Vermont Medical Center is the primary health care provider for 66,000 people who live and work in central Vermont. They provide 24-hour emergency care, with a full spectrum of inpatient (licensed for 122 beds) and outpatient services. Their medical staff numbers 121 physicians providing care from their private practices as well as from CVMC’s fifteen community-based medical group practices.
Summit's solutions play a crucial role at CVMC as wireless technology is used by the staff to conduct communications throughout the hospital and the coverage is a critcal component of their disaster recovery communications plan. The chosen solution provides perfect GSM and CDMA coverage in order to allow communication over the Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint cellular networks. Prior to this enhancement, cell phones were unusable in the first floor level of the main facility and MOB-A wing.
Summit offered CVMC a range of solutions designed to boost the performance and call quality of in-building wireless networks, designed especially for high traffic, congested areas. Products such as amplifiers/repeaters, in-line boosters, and multi-directional antennas are geared towards supplementing and expanding the scope of wireless signals in low coverage areas.
